Sangria, Ice Cream, and Tripping: My first month in Sevilla!

Hey guys! I have officially been in Seville, Spain for a whole month now so I thought I would give you an update on how my life is going! I arrived in Madrid, Spain on September 4th from my wonderful vacation in Portugal! Waiting for me in Madrid were my two friends Amanda and Marissa. They both go to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with me and will be studying for the semester in Seville! We spend two days there before our program started on the 6th.

Arriving in Seville marked the beginning of the next four months of my life! Meeting my roommate Brittany and host mother Bebe was the perfect way to conclude my first day here! For the next week, we had an orientation that described how these next four months will look like. That is where I found my new favorite food, croquettes! They are like fried mashed potato balls, they are everything and so much more! Like the title of this blog, my friends and I have drunk Jugs of Sangria almost every day, while also eating our weight in ice cream. I also apparently do not know how to walk on copple stone streets, meaning I trip all the time. A face plant into on the road is inevitable in the next coming months.

So far I have only visited the city of Tarifa, which is in the south of Spain, and another beach in Portugal! Both were amazing and well worth it! Coming into the semester I had nothing planned travel-wise, but now I have six big trips planned, starting with Morocco! Stay tuned for more travel updates!
