3 reasons why not getting your way is actually better

Cafe in Seville!

Time and time again, I have wished and hoped for a dream or want of mine to come true. Sometimes I worked hard or put a lot of time into it. Other times I haven't worked as hard, but hoped it to come to fruition anyway. I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and the purpose of either not getting what you wanted or getting it, are both important lessons to learn as well as grow by. Right now I am coming out of a season of events not going the way I thought they were going to go. As I say that I have come up with three reasons why not getting your way is actually better for you.
Here we go:

1. Patience

It shows you that you need to be patient for what is better for you that is right around the corner or down the road. The thing that you wanted to go your way actually could have been hurtful to you. What is to come maybe a lot more of what you need than what you want at this moment in your life.

2.  Gives you more time to think about what you need

As the saying goes "not everything you want is what you need" is that the quote anyway?! Nevertheless, the object/activity that you desperately want, may also not be what your life needs at this moment in time. One thought I have going into an event that I would like to go a certain way is if this is my opportunity than nothing will stand in its way from coming to me. And if this is not my opportunity than it was always meant for someone else in addition to that my opportunity will come to me when it is supposed to. So with that being said goes to my third point.

3. This time allows you the ability to regroup what your dreams and wants are

You didn't get what you wanted so what happens next? You look at where you are, where you want to go, how you want to get there, and any other question that needs to be considered to regroup on your dreams and wants. Is this still what you want, if so how are you going to keep pushing to get there. Or is this something you don't want anymore, why do you feel that way and do you have something else that you want to pursue. Ask all the questions then get at it.

In this season I am one semester away from graduating from college. I have had some setbacks as in failing classes and changing majors. With that being said my goal has always been to get a college degree. I will not give up on this dream, my way to get there has changed and molded but I will still get there. It only wasn't the way I wanted it to be, but the way that was better for me in the long run.
