The second weekend in October, Brittany and I went to the amazing Nice, France for a weekend! It was one of the most expensive weekend I have had on this trip abroad so far. We stayed in a 16 person room hostel. You know, for the experience also for it being the cheapest option. We both did not get any sleep, but the good news is nothing was stolen from us! Besides the hostel, everything else was wonderful! There was beautiful weather all weekend, sunny and 75 degrees. A little too cold for swimming and the beaches are all made of huge rocks. But we walked around the different parts of the city, climbed up a hill to see the views, and listened to a cannon welcome the boats back into the harbor.
By the end of the second day we wanted to have an expensive dinner, we chose this little Italian restaurant that was underground in a cave-like setting called "La Cave du Fromager." They had the best, by far, risotto I've ever had! Brittany had a cheese wheel of goodness! After that we went to a bar/disco, called Wayne's, to dance the night away! Not until we sang happy birthday to our friend Faye who would be turning 21 in a week!
Our last full day brought us to Monaco with all the fancy cars and famous people. We went walked around in our nice dresses and heels until around 9 when we decided it was time to go into the Monte Carlo. If you have ever been into a casino, you know you can't have your phone out at the table. Well at the Monte Carlo, you can't have your phone out at all. Nevertheless, I had the best time watching people gamble, drink, and win some money. I did win 15 euros, about 17 dollars! I would highly recommend going to Monaco and the Monte Carlo, it was exceptional how the city makes you feel.
